Leipzig is the first city in Germany to have a HYDROGEN SCOUT, Kilian Jaehne. Leipzig is thus taking an important step towards becoming a hydrogen city. As part of the HYPOS team, Kilian Jaehne will advise Leipzig's SMEs on the use of green hydrogen and implement projects together with companies and the city administration.
As a building block of the energy transition, green hydrogen is to be established in society and industry as an energy source and raw material for the city of Leipzig, the surrounding districts and the Central German metropolitan region. As a regional center, the city of Leipzig is actively committed to a vital hydrogen market in cooperation with HYPOS e.V. and is the central contact point for all stakeholders from the private and municipal sectors. Green hydrogen is also to be made available in the city through decentralized solutions, e.g. in green industrial estates.
