Over the next few years, fossil fuels will gradually be replaced by renewable energies and green hydrogen. The focus will be on the large energy consumers from steel production, the chemical industry and refineries, for example. In the long term, this energy demand will be met primarily by importing renewable energies and hydrogen.
In addition, decentralized production, storage and use potentials for green hydrogen also offer solutions for smaller energy consumers, e.g. to make public transport, their own logistics fleets at work or building energy supply sustainable and economical. Individual actors develop the production of renewable energies as well as green hydrogen directly in regional proximity as a so-called stand-alone solution in order to then use it for their own operations.
The Cluster Decentralized H2 Energy Supply advises and accompanies HYPOS members along this value chain from production, suitable transport infrastructure and consumption to establish these regional stand-alone solutions and thus contribute to the hydrogen market ramp-up. This includes e.g. initial consultations for technology overview, contact to network partners, initiation of business models and use of synergies.
