Over the next few years, fossil fuels will be gradually replaced by renewable energies and green hydrogen. The focus is primarily on the large energy consumers from, for example, steel production, chemicals and refineries. In the long term, this energy requirement will be covered primarily by importing renewable energies and hydrogen. In addition, decentralized generation, storage and use potential of green hydrogen also offers solutions for smaller energy consumers, for example to make local public transport, in-house logistics fleets or building energy supply sustainable and economical. Individual players are developing the production of renewable energies and green hydrogen in close regional areas as a so-called isolated solution in order to then use this for their own operations.
The Decentralized H2 Energy Supply-Cluster advises and supports HYPOS members along this value chain from production, the appropriate transport infrastructure and consumption in order to establish these regional island solutions and thus contribute to the hydrogen market ramp-up.
